About Will

Welcome!

My name is William J. Nash-McAdam and I am a full-time writer, editor, and business owner. I work for myself, creating content for various clients and helping others achieve their publishing goals. home

Making the Transition

I had long been jealous of others who made their full-time living off of doing the things they love. After a string of retail and restaurant jobs, I thought that settling down into a cubicle for the next twenty years may be a more realistic way to spend my life. However, after four years of staring out at the city, a growing urgency called for me to be out in the city, experiencing people, life, and places.

After a layoff and a brief stint returning to a coffee house, I decided it was time to follow my dream and be a full-time writer. Taking that into consideration, I branched into other services that I have background with – including editing, consulting, blogging, and publishing. I didn’t save up for months on end to make this happen; I didn’t have a three-year plan crafted out; I didn’t have a safety net. I just did it, accompanied by a load of motivation, determination, and hope.

The Adventure Thus Far

I have been writing for various clients, including a couple local newspapers, since high school. During high school, I won a publishing contract for a Southern California guidebook with a San Diego, California-based publisher. Not long after, though, the publisher went bankrupt and the book never materialized. After taking a year off writing to focus exclusively on college, I began writing again in 2001 for various clients, eventually leading to my own column that ran for two years on Southern California attractions and history. In 2003 I joined two friends in forming a Tempe, Arizona-based 501 c (3) non-profit organization focusing on matching people who wish to help others with those whom need help.

At the end of 2005, I formed Project Forever. Originally an artists’ collective, it has since evolved to be the umbrella company through which I engage in all my other pursuits. One of those pursuits is writing. My first book, “Churches, Pubs, and Hostels,” dropped in 2005 and sold remarkably well for a first-time, self-published work. The next few years ended up being a combination of office job cubicle work as a financial advisor, blogging, schooling, and travel. In the fourth fiscal quarter of 2008, I made the decision to truly pursue my writing and other businesses with the focus and commitment that I could not previously give it. A short time later, I opened MyEditNow.com, Project Forever Books developed into Social Network Publishing, and through SNP I released my second book, “Dichotomies & Hypocrisies” on January 10th, 2009.

What the Future Holds

While focusing an increased amount of attention on blogging and maintaining Project Forever, I will be returning to what started it all – a guide on Southern California. The most comprehensive and cohesive guide to the area and theme parks on the internet, it will launch on January 1st, 2009, accompanied by the release of e-book and traditional book guides a short time later.

Also in the works for the first few months of 2009 are a children’s history book on historical world landmarks and a third novel chroniclaing my 2005 solo road trip to Seattle and 2006 backpacking trip to Israel.

The Other Parts of My Life

Writing and editing are my passions – but I also enjoy travel, photography, and learning. I am always reading, taking courses, or doing other things to try to better myself and my businesses. I hope, beginning in early 2009, to take my work on the road and write and blog from various coffee shops in different places. I would like to accomplish this through couchsurfing.com and the open doors of friends from coast to coast. If Iwork from home and coffee shops, why not be able to pursue my love of travel while I’m at it?
